- China organized in to 28000 communes (groups of people that produced things together)
- The organization of these communes were disruptive because they were formed largely by taking people away from what they were traditionally good at (bankers to do farm work).
· Main factors
- Great industrial and scientific activity
- Muscle power used to build dams an irrigation systems. (A result of the lack of technology/ equipment)
- Small communal factories.
- Famine, as a result of the removal of farmers from their work to participate in industrial factories, resulted in 30,000,000 deaths.
Subjunctive Question: If the Famine had not accord while Mao being in power, would the rest of the world look at the Leader differently and not blame communism for such loss?

Summary: Mao Great Leap Forward was a result of the five year plan being criticized which lead the the great Famine that killed estimated 30 million people. This was a result of the removal of farmers from their work to participate in industrial factories.
