- Arab radicals had attacked Jews throughout 1947
- The Arab League had rumors of attacking the Jews once the Brits left.
- the day the mandate ends the Jews under David Ben-Gurion attack the Arab League countries
- The Jews win and increase their territory from the partition including the Negev Desert
Summery: When Jews left Europe to go to Israel after the Holocaust, the Arab League was formed to protest the Balfour Declaration. Jews started a Zionist movement to get their homeland and the Brits handed the problem to the UN. 1947 the UN suggested a partition so the Jews had their own country and land. The Arabs disagreed with this partition because Israel split up many Arab regions. The Jews attacked the Arabs to protect their knew country and won (which was unlikely) and force Arabs to retreat in which Israel gained more territory than given in the partition. This resulted in Jews & Palestinians begin major conflict that continues for almost 50 years.
Question: If the Jews didn't attack the Arabs and waited for them to attack first would Israel have the land it does now?
